This Directory is published by the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste
District to help recycling businesses locate sources of financial,
business and technical resources needed to grow or expand in the
region. As a partner in the Greater Cleveland Recycling
Initiative, the District works to facilitate local business
development and expansion through the use of recyclable materials
in Cuyahoga County. Other GCRI partners include
CAMP Inc. and ShoreBank Enterprise Group.
Together, the GCRI partners can provide entrepreneurs with
business development, recycling manufacturing, engineering, and
financing assistance.
Developing local markets for recyclables is key to ensuring the
long-term stability of recycling collection programs in Cuyahoga
County. It is also a key to helping create jobs and economic
vitality in economically- distressed areas.
That is why the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District, in partnership with
ShoreBank Enterprise Group
and CAMP Inc., is
working to help grow local recycling enterprises. Manufacturing
new products from yesterday's discards will improve markets for
recyclables and spur economic activity and employment in the
region.
Turning any business idea, much less a recycling-based business
into reality can be daunting. The Resource Directory for
Recycling Enterprises can help. Included is a list of applicable
sources of public financing, business development assistance, and
recycling information to help start or grow a recycling business.
