Trees

Trees are big. Trees are small.
Trees are everywhere standing tall.
Some trees are beautiful. Some are not.
Some are colorful. Some are not.
Some are shady when it’s hot.
You can climb them if they’re tall.
Trees are big. Trees are small.
Trees are everywhere standing tall.

I spread my arms. For birds to rest.
They lay their eggs. I’m a nest.
When the birds go tweet tweet. I now that means they want to eat.

Trees Make a Difference

Trees are important, trees are cool.
I think we should have more at school.

Certain trees can give us food.
When we’re in a hungry mood.

If it rains then we all flee,
To the shelter of a large tree.

For fun, kids can climb,
Up the trees all the time!

Swaying and dancing in the wind,
A tree could bring a smile to every kid.

Reaching low or swinging high,
A tree is important to you and I.

Danielle Mack, Pleasant Valley, Parma, fifth grade

Trees

Standing like giant soldiers are the trees
With their colored leaves waving in the breeze.
Huge oaks, maple trees, sycamores, and weeping willows.
Birds tweeting in their nest, under large cloud pillows.
Turning seasons come and go
Leaves red, orange, gold, and yellow.
Spiders crawling up the trees, bees working busily.
Colored leaves from the trees, twirling, twirling dizzily.
Branches stretch out white and snowy
As the branches droop down lowly.
Tiny green buds fill the trees
Waiting to be full grown leaves.
Seasons come and Seasons go
As trees stand sturdy as they grow.

John Haas, Pleasant Valley, Parma, sixth grade

If you step outside and look around,
It’s almost certain a tree will be found,

The roots spread out all around,
Gathering any water found,
The water makes the tree grow tall
Creating shade for one and all,
The trunk is very thick and round,
It sits right above the ground,
Branches split off everywhere,
Reaching high into the air,
The leaves are green and shaped differently,
Depending on the type of tree,
They’re good for climbing just for fun,
And block the sum for everyone,
The leaves are food for the wild life,
And fallen seeds create new life,
So here is something your should know
don’t cut them down, let them grow.

Trees

Trees, trees, trees they love to be free.
The birds in the trees love to fly free.
Trees, trees, tress have big green leaves and big brown trunk.

Trees

Trees, trees, trees,
They give us air,
That we could not bare,
Without.
They give us so much.
So we call them such providers.
They give us chairs,
So we can sit.
They give paper
So we can write,
Everyone says their such as delight!
Aslo trees, trees, tress
Have such wonderful leaves!

My Soul of Trees

Sometimes my soul is a deciduous tree
With my flat blade leaves
Giving me protection is the summer…covering me faithfully
Giving me beauty and radiance
Growing in slow so I have patience
Giving me the sweetness of a maple tree to share
In the fall my leaves fall, leaving me bare
Leaving me with anticipation until next spring arrives
Leaving me naked in the cold to hopefully stay alive
Leaving my branches exposed for the world to see me undressed
Leaving me afraid, along, distraught and depressed
I am like the willow
As my long branches flow wherever the wind blows
I am adaptable to any place my soul shall find
I feel at ease in my sleep and let myself unwind
As my branches droop creating a beautiful canopy
Giving shade from the sun, protecting me
I am old wise and know where life begins
I am kind and gentle and am nature’s friend

Sometimes my soul is a coniferous tree
With my sharp, needle leaves
Giving my protection through life…covering me faithfully
Giving me boldness and brawn
Giving me love and staying all year long
Giving me a sense of braveness to take on al things
Giving me power like the bully amongst all trees
But leaving me with no friends, leaving me to stand alone
Leaving me with this shield, blocking me so the world is unknown
I am like the Christmas tree
Disguised with ornaments and stripping myself of beauty

My soul is a tree, adaptable and wise
But even with wisdom it chooses to disguise
My soul is a tree, now cut down to the size of a pawn
And now I am nothing
And my soul is gone
