Recycle Your Computer Month
The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District, in collaboration with city service departments in Cuyahoga County, is hosting Recycle Your Computer Month during the month of August. Household computer equipment may be turned in at various city locations in Cuyahoga County. Click here for a list of participating cities.
Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up
The Spring 2008 Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up will be held Saturday, May 10 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea. County residents can dispose of oil-based paint, pesticides, and other household hazardous wastes free of charge. Many cities will also host local events. Click here for a list.
Phone Book Recycling Campaign
The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District’s 16th annual Phone Book Recycling Campaign will run from June 1 through September 30, 2008 to coincide with the delivery of the new phone books by AT&T.
Scrap Tire Round-Up
The Solid Waste District provides free recycling of scrap tires for communities in October during its Scrap Tire Round-Up event. Tires are picked up at your service garage by our recycling contractor. This program helps communities recycle the scrap tires collected from residents and reduces the financial burden of this costly service.
Mercury Collection Program
The Solid Waste District provides a free mercury disposal program for household mercury items. These items include mercury fever thermometers, thermostats, switches found in appliances, liquid mercury and compact fluorescent light bulbs. |
