Recycling Information and Assistance
Free recycling and waste management information for residents and businesses through District hotline (216) 443-3749 speakers, printed materials, and site visits.

Recycling Presentations
Free recycling presentations for schools, civic groups, senior centers, business organizations. Our waste management professionals can tailor a talk to meet your specific audience and interests.

Children’s Education Programs
Environmental educator provides free classroom presentations, teacher workshops, classroom materials, field trips, a student newsletter and environmental curriculum to teach children about recycling.

Local Government Assistance
The District provides free waste management consulting services to communities to assist with expanding recycling programs, preparing bid specifications, modernizing collection systems and more.

|
Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up
A program to collect and properly dispose of oil-based paint products, pesticides, garden chemicals and other hazardous waste found in the home. Round Ups are held twice a year at the county fairgrounds.

Recycle Your Computer Month
An annual event to collect and recycle unwanted household computer equipment. Computers are collected at the county fairgrounds and recycled by RET3 Job Corp., a local non-profit organization.

Phone Book Recycling Campaign
An annual phone book recycling drive held each summer when the new phone books are delivered. Residents and business may turn in old phone books at twelve Cleveland Metropark locations.

|
Scrap Tire Round-Up
An annual program to collect and recycle scrap tires that communities collect from residents or remove from illegal dump sites. This Round Up is held each September.

|
Litter Collection Program
The District funds two litter collection crews provided by Court Community Service Inc. that work year-round to clean up litter from city streets and other public areas.

|
Mercury Collection Program
A disposal program to collect household mercury items from the public. Residents may turn in mercury items at six collection locations in Cuyahoga County.
|
|
Paper Marketing Cooperative
A cooperative organized by the District to collectively market newspapers, magazines and other household paper collected through fifteen city recycling programs to achieve favorable and stable pricing.
|
|
Recycling Market Development
The District works to improve local markets for recycled materials and stimulate economic activity and employment by providing technical assistance to local recycling enterprises. State grant money is available to support local recycling-based businesses. Click here to view a list of the state's grant programs.
