Litter Collection Program
The District funds two litter collection crews provided by Court Community Service Inc. that work year-round to clean up litter from city streets and other public areas.



Paper Marketing Cooperative
A cooperative organized by the District to collectively market newspapers, magazines and other household paper collected through fifteen city recycling programs to achieve favorable and stable pricing.


Local Government Assistance
The District provides free waste management consulting services to communities to assist with expanding recycling programs, preparing bid specifications, modernizing collection systems and more.

This survey provides data on the solid waste management and recycling contracts of each of Cuyahoga County’s fifty-nine communities.

The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Plan
A summary of the strategies the District will use to safely manage solid waste produced in Cuyahoga County and meet Ohio's goals for waste reduction and recycling. Includes data on the amount of waste that is generated and recycled in Cuyahoga County and waste management methods.

Scrap Tire Round-Up
An annual program to collect and recycle scrap tires that communities collect from residents or remove from illegal dump sites. This Round Up is held each September.


Household Hazardous Waste Disposal
The Solid Waste District provides free disposal of hazardous waste collected by communities from their residents. To participate, communities bring accepted items to the county fairgrounds twice each year when the District conducts its Household Hazardous Waste Round Up. Accepted items include oil-based paint products, pesticides, garden chemicals and other hazardous waste found in the home.

Recycle Your Computer Month
An annual event to collect and recycle unwanted household computer equipment from communities. To participate, communities bring computers to the county fairgrounds when the District conducts its Computer Round Up. All equipment is recycled by RET3 Job Corp., a local non-profit organization.
