Recycling is one way that scouts can make the earth a better place to live. Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs contain projects or badges that relate to taking care of the environment. Leaders can request our Education Specialist to come to a troop meeting as a guest speaker. Programs are twenty to thirty minutes, but can be expanded when combined with a reuse craft project or a modified classroom presentation.
What would be even better? Have your troop strive to be greener by earning the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Patch. The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Patch program has simple activities to teach the meaning of the 3R’s and older scouts have a project to complete with troop or family. Patches are free to troops who live in Cuyahoga County. Click here to order the Scouting Patch Guide.
