Trash is picked up from the curb and loaded into a packer truck.

The packer truck dumps the trash at a transfer station.

A large tractor trailer semi is loaded with trash to be transported to a landfill.

The trash is inspected and dumped in the landfill.

Large machines compact and level trash.

At the end of the day, dirt is brought in to cover trash.

This is a newly constructed landfill with just the clay liner established.

During construction, a plastic liner is laid down over the clay
liner and sealed to prevent a landfill from leaking.
