SUSTAINABLE CLEVELAND 2019

In the summer of 2009, Mayor Frank Jackson brought together a diverse group of people vested in and dedicated to Cleveland to use their vast knowledge and imagination to create an action plan for building a green economy for Cleveland’s future.  At this year’s summit, efforts will be focused on generating momentum on current efforts and promoting job creation.  Summit 2010: The Glocal Engine will be held September 22-23, 2010 at the Cleveland Convention Center.

18th ANNUAL PHONE BOOK RECYCLING CAMPAIGN
Let your fingers do the walking! A swamp monkey pages through an old phone book as part of an animal enrichment activity on July 16 at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. You can recycle your phone books at the Zoo and eleven other Metroparks locations until September 30.

DISPOSAL OF TELEVISIONS
While there is no ban in Ohio on placing televisions and electronics in the regular trash, there are retailers and local companies that offer recycling services for these items.  A fee is usually charged.  Best Buy stores will recycle your old television (up to 32”) for a $10 fee.  In exchange, you receive a $10 Best Buy gift card.  Log onto www.bestbuy.com/recycling
